The bright yellow fields are a big part of the Essex landscape at this time of year but I think the picture lacks something with just a blank expanse of sky.
Managed to capture definition in the blue sky in a second shot, but at the expense of colour intensity in the field. Will have to exlore further to see if there's a way to get a better balance between sky and landscape.
I'm now the proud owner of a Finepix S5600. As I’m an enthusiastic rather than skilled photographer this blog will chart my efforts at learning how to use the camera so probably pictures that are as much luck as design at this stage. I'm booked on a 1 day "explore your digital slr" workshop in June so hopefully that will help me start to get to grips with some of the technical stuff. Anyway, I hope you'll enjoy some of my pictures, comments and constructive feedback are always welcome.

weeley woods
These were taken at the open day at Weeley Woods, usually no public access to this nature reserve but they open the gates once a year during the bluebell season.
I'm getting used to the macro and apperture settings, particularly pleased with achieving the out of focus background to the fern.
